Workshop on “Strengthening the Roles and Implementation of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Activities at the Departments of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (DISTI) in Capital and Provinces”The National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (NISTI), in collaboration with the General Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (GDSTI), organized the virtual workshop on 17 July 2026, with the participation of leaders and officials from all DISTIs across Cambodia.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the understanding of the roles and responsibilities of DISTI in implementing STI activities at the sub-national level through:
1. Strengthening the capacity and clarifying the roles of DISTI;
2. Enhancing the implementation of STI activities at the capital and provincial levels;
3. Supporting the development of priority sectors under the mandate of MISTI; and
4. Promoting data- and evidence-based policymaking.
Strengthening DISTI's capacity will contribute to building an effective and responsive Science, Technology, and Innovation ecosystem while supporting sustainable economic and social development in Cambodia.
