Strengthening Cambodia’s Innovation Ecosystem: Insights from Austria

Recently, Dr. LY Sokny, Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (NISTI), participated in an official visit to Austria organized by GCIP-Cambodia. The visit aimed to explore collaboration among government agencies, research institutions, and the private sector in transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions.

During the mission, the delegation visited key organizations and institutions, including UNIDO, BMLUK, Vienna Business Agency, AWS, TU Wien, Climate Lab, and Impact Hub Vienna.

Key lesson: A strong innovation ecosystem depends on effective connections between research, entrepreneurship, investment, and sustainability. These elements play an important role in fostering innovation and economic growth. The knowledge and experiences gained from this visit are expected to contribute to strengthening Cambodia’s science, technology, and innovation (STI) sector.
